High Strength Silica (HSS) Particle Technology
To complement Waters revolutionary Hybrid Particle Technology (HPT), a mechanically tolerant, silica-based material was designed to withstand UPLC pressures. High Strength Silica (HSS) particle technology was born from an innovative synthetic prodcess that significantly increases the mechanical stability of silica while maintaining pore volumes similar to that of HPLC silica-based materials. The result is a novel particle technology that provides increased retentivity compared to hybrid particles while serving as the ideal substrate to create stationary phases that provide alternate selectivity.
ACQUITY UPLC Protein SEC
Based upon the highly successful BEH particle technology, the ACQUITY UPLC Protein SEC Column 450 Å, 2.5 µm, 4.6 mm x 300 mm is fully optimized for the analysis of proteins and their aggregates with molecular weights ranging from 100,000 to 1,500,000 Daltons, the total system solution will routinely deliver fast, accurate aggregate determinations up to 10 times quicker that traditional HPLC-based SEC methods. Note that for optimal SEC separation performance, this column is designed for use in UPLC SEC applications with an appropriate low LC system volume.
