Job Opportunity: Field Service Engineer (LC GC & Spectroscopy)
We’re excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Engineer (LC GC & Spectroscopy) to join our dynamic Service & Support Team. This role will involve travel to client sites across the UK, with occasional assignments in other European countries.
You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and supporting the UVISON portfolio, along with third-party products. This includes ensuring that our customers’ installed systems remain in optimal working condition.
Key Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
- Install, maintain, repair, and calibrate a range of laboratory equipment, including HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS, GC, GC-MS, UV-vis spectrophometers, gas generators, and sample prep automation solutions.
- Install and commission Chromatography Data Systems (CDS) such as Empower, OpenLab, and Chromeleon.
- Provide remote customer support via phone, email, and online portals.
- Conduct repairs and reconditioning in our on-site workshop.
- Deliver comprehensive customer training.
- Accurately complete and submit Service Reports promptly after each job.
- Develop and maintain service documentation to support ongoing operations.
Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications
Essential:
- A degree in Engineering or a Scientific discipline, or proven success as an FSE in the analytical sector.
- Strong Maths and English skills (minimum GCSE level).
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Methodical and independent troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a meticulous approach to documentation.
- You should be comfortable with frequent and extensive travel.
- Strong organizational competence and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of GLP and other relevant industry regulations.
- Experience servicing and supporting HPLC and/or UHPLC systems.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, and UV-vis systems.
- Familiarity with gas generators and general laboratory equipment.
- Analytical method and application development experience.
