ACQUITY Premier Protein SEC 250Å, 1.7 µm Columns help scientists obtain reliable protein size variant separations (10,000 to approx 650,000 Daltons) via the synergistic coupling of Waters MaxPeak Premier High Performance Surfaces and novel BEH-PEO Particle technologies. These advancements in SEC column hardware and SEC particle technology work to minimize non-desired secondary ionic or hydrophobic interactions between proteins and the column to minimize costly method development work by allowing chromatographers to use a “generic” or “platform-type” method for many samples. Note: The column includes, at no addtional cost, a vial of Waters mAb Size Variant Standard (p/n: 186009429) Also note that for optimal SEC separation performance, this column is designed for use in UPLC SEC applications with an appropriate low LC system volume.
mAb Size Variant Standard
Waters mAb Size Variant Standard (p/n: 186009429) contains the NIST humanized monoclonal antibody (Reference Material 8671) and non-reduced IdeS digested NIST mAb fragments F(ab')2 (~100,000 Da) and (Fc/2)2 (~50,000 Da). By aliquoting small, standard amounts of IdeS fragments, Waters mAb size variant stardard can be effectiely used to test column and LC System ability to separate mAb aggregates, monomer, and fragments / clips via SEC.

ACQUITY Premier Columns
Stop looking and start seeing – no compromise required
Reduce the risks associated with unpredictable chromatography with ACQUITY Premier Columns with MaxPeak High Performance Surfaces (HPS) Technology, which allow you to see and do more by reducing analyte/surface interactions.
With Waters ACQUITY Premier Columns, chromatographers can harness the separation efficiency improvements and increased flow rates of ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) technology, improving analyte resolution, sensitivity, business productivity, and profitability. As the next evolution in the ACQUITY UPLC Column family, ACQUITY Premier Columns are built on the industry-leading sub-2-µm particle technologies from Waters you trust.
- Reduces column conditioning and passivation for higher productivity
- Increases reproducibility from analysis to analysis, for more confidence in analytical results
- Reduces non-specific absorption for increased sensitivity, improved peak shape, and easier analyte integration
- Provides superior separation speed, sensitivity, and resolution with best-in-class column efficiency
- 3 UPLC particles of various substrate technologies, including Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH), High Strength Silica (HSS), and Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH)
- Reversed-phase and HILIC stationary phases, including C18, Embedded-Polar, and Amide
- Application-specific column chemistries for peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, and glycan analysis
- Prolonged column lifetimes with VanGuard FIT Columns, and easy-to-use, all-in-one guard/column design
Recommended Use: For increased sensitivity, improved peak shape, and less column equilibration time in methods development.
SEC Columns
Size-based separations of peptides, proteins, and viral vectors
Get unmatched batch-to-batch reproducibility with the wide range of Waters Size-Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) Columns and standards for protein and peptide characterization.
SEC is a powerful technique for aggregate and fragment analysis in the research, development, and manufacturing of biotherapeutic proteins, such as insulin and monoclonal antibodies (mAb).?With SEC, also known as gel filtration, you can separate proteins based on their size (hydrodynamic radii versus absolute molecular weight) in solution, with larger sized species eluting before smaller proteins.
The?pore size?and?volume of the SEC particles?used in the packed column drives this isocratic based technique, so the column you choose matters.?As the molecular weight of the proteins of interest increases, SEC columns with comparatively larger pore size particles are selected.
