Introduction

DosaPrep ® is frequently used to produce medium for short term storage. In this case the dispense feature is not used, and a storage tank can be a very helpful accessory. 

The Storage Tank allows to store a volume of prepared medium of up to 30 l or up to 60 l. This maximum volume can be set by using the appropriate plug at the rear of the tank.

The time for media to re-absorb air is around four days, as it was pointed out in „Dissolution Technologies“ already May 1996, from Terry W.Moore, FDA St.Louis, MO, USA.

Principle

DosaPrep® X8 will stop to deliver medium, if the set maximum level is reached. It will continue to deliver medium only if the level is below the set maximum level. Therefore an overflow is excluded. An extra level switch assures even in the case of the failure a safe stop of the delivery of medium.

Use as Storage Tank

The tank is placed next to the instrument. The instrument automatically refills the tank. The tank may be either set to 30 l or 60 l (see installation). The required media is being taken from the tank by a valve provided by the user. In many cases the tank is put on a stand for ease of filling beakers or vessels. A pistol type outlet is offered as convenient accessory to
dose the medium easily, to be connected to the “Out” of the storage tank.
