CHIRALPAK® & CHIRALCEL®
CELLULOSE TRIBENZOATE ON A 5 µm & 10 µm SILICA SUPPORT
Coated phases. The traditional coated chiral stationary phases (CSPs) from CHIRAL TECHNOLOGIES are available in 3-µm particle size and offer superior speed and column resolving power. These columns packed with 3-µm CSPs offer high-speed separations, reduction in analysis time, more samples per day and a reduction in cost per sample. Columns, packed with 3-µm particles, may be used in conventional HPLC units without significant loss in performance, even with the smaller column dimensions.
The original Daicel CSPs were formed by coating the chiral polymer from the derivatization of the amylose and cellulose on 10-µm diameter silica. Subsequently, CHIRALPAK AD, CHIRALPAK AS, CHIRALCEL OD, CHIRALCEL OJ, CHIRALCEL OB, and CHIRALCEL OC were superseded by products made with higher-efficiency 5-µm particles. These CSPs are designated AD-H, AS-H, OD-H, OJ-H, OB-H and OC-H. Because these CSPs are made by coating the polymer on the silica, any solvent that will dissolve the polymer will remove the coating and damage the CSP. For this reason there are strict limits on the mobile phases that may be used and one of Daicel's priorities is to develop further the range of immobilized CSPs to eliminate these restrictions.
The predecessors to the immobilised columns, traditional CHIRALPAK® and CHIRALCEL® DAICEL coated polysaccharide Chiral Stationary Phases are made with a spherical high quality silica support onto which the polymeric chiral selector (amylose or cellulose derivatives) is physically coated. Due to the coated nature of these chiral supports, solvents should be carefully selected.CHIRALPAK® AD-3, AS-3 & CHIRALCEL® OD-3, OJ-3 are columns with Chiral Stationary Phase coated on our new 3µm silica support for:
- Fast analysis
- Higher resolution
- Direct use in most HPLC systems
- Direct method transfer between 5 µm and 3 µm
- As always, DAICEL high quality
Analytical and semi-preparative columns for HPLC and SFC applications CHIRALPAK® & CHIRALCEL® chromatography columns are available in a variety of diameters and lengths to meet your application needs. For larger application scales, the CSP is also available as bulk stationary phase (20 µm). Analytical and semi-preparative columns are available with 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes. The 5 µm columns (-H series) offer higher resolution than the traditional 10 µm columns.
