Glass-backed Analytical TLC Plates

Miles Scientific Analtech Brand Silica Gel GHLF (Hard Layer inorganic binder, Gypsum, Fluorescent indicator) TLC Plates, 250µm, 15x20cm, 25Pk

Product Number: P21041

Weight: 11.10 LBS

GHL - Hard Layer inorganic binder plus Calcium Sulfate (Gypsum)

F - Fluorescent indicator UV254. (Can be added to any adsorbent.)

Analtech Brand Silica Gel GHL / GHLF TLC Plates

  • Silica Pore: 60Å
  • Silica Particle Size: 8-10 μm average
  • Binder: Calcium sulfate a.k.a. gypsum (inorganic) with proprietary
  • hardening agent (inorganic)
  • Hardness: 80-160 (can write on gently with pencil)

Acceptable Solvents:

All typical chromatography solvents (even 100% water)

Visualization Techniques:

Compatible with essentially all visualization reagents, even sulfuric acid charring. Reagent may be dipped or sprayed.

General Description:

Moderate hardness layer combines rugged surface characteristics with freedom to use essentially any mobile phase component or visualization reagent. Binder is compatible from nonpolar hexane all the way through the eluotropic series to 100% aqueous systems. Being inorganic, the binder allows use of aggressive visualization systems such as sulfuric acid charring and dipping procedures.

These plates are 100% H20 resistant and are compatible with aqueous developing solvents. They are less rugged than the plates with organic binder but still provide improved handling and sample application compared to Silica Gel G UNIPLATES and are tough enough to write on with a soft pencil, if required.Hard Layer UNIPLATES with inorganic binder are recommended for all applications including those where visualization occurs through strong charring procedures or in any case in which reagent interaction with an organic binder occurs.

  • Layers tolerate 100% water.
  • Contains no organic materials.
  • Suitable for aggressive visualization procedures.
  • Standard scoring for 20x20 cm plates yields four 5x20 cm plates.
  • Channeled 20x20 cm plates have 19 channels.
  • One box of scored 10x20 cm plates yields two hundred 2.5x10 cm plates.

  • Model: P21041
  • Manufactured by: Miles Scientific
