Electron Capture Detector Complete Add-On Kit for PerkinElmer Clarus 500 GC, 230V. Kit includes all parts necessary to install an ECD on the Clarus 500 GC. Includes detector, heater, sensor, heater block, 1/16 in. makeup gas line, makeup gas needle valve, and vent tube assembly. The PerkinElmer ECD is a versatile, nondestructive detector which responds strongly to halogen containing compounds as well as to certain other electron-capturing substances. The ECD’s high sensitivity and selectivity make it an ideal choice for pesticide residue analysis and for detection of halogen derivatized compounds. The PerkinElmer ECD has an independent temperature range of 100-450°C. The detector contains thermal protection that prevents heating the Ni63 source to temperatures beyond safe operating limits. Two ECDs can be installed and operated simultaneously. Nitrogen or argon/methane is the required detector operating gas. The base of the detector terminates in a 1/8 in. fitting.
