Electron Capture Detector (ECD) with PPC Complete Add-On Kit for PerkinElmer AutoSystem XL GC, 230V. Kit includes detector, heater, sensor, heater block, and programmable pneumatic control for makeup gas. Requires but does not include ECD amplifier (P/N N6120014). The AutoSystem XL GC must be PPC ready. If not, PPC upgrade kit (P/N N6120146) is required. PerkinElmer service installation required. The PerkinElmer ECD is a versatile, nondestructive detector which responds strongly to halogen containing compounds as well as to certain other electron-capturing substances. The ECD's high sensitivity and selectivity make it an ideal choice tor pesticide residue analysis and for detection of halogen-derivatized compounds. The PerkinElmer ECD has an independent temperature range of 100-450°C. The detector contains thermal protection that prevents heating the Ni63 source to temperatures beyond safe operating limits. Two ECDs can be installed and operated simultaneously on the AutoSystem. Nitrogen or Argon/Methane is the required detector operating gas. The base of the detector terminates a 1/8 in. fitting.
