PerkinElmer AutoSystem Series GC External Igniter FID Catalytic Reactor Accessory. Easy Connection, Efficient Conversion, Excellent for Low Level CO and CO2 Detection. The catalytic reactor converts CO and CO2 to Methane conveniently and efficiently. The lower detection limit is extended to well below 0.1ppm. The catalytic reactor consists of a special catalytic reactor base which replaces the FID base. The reactor base contains a quantity of catalyst held place by a quartz wool plug. The catalytic reactor has a catalyst packing inside the FID detector base. The reactor body contains a catalyst which is retained by a filter disk at the detector end and a quartz wool plug at the column end. Thermal transfer from the detector effectively heats the catalyst to an operating temperature of 350°C - 450°C. Separated components from the column combine with hydrogen combustion gas, leading to reduction of the CO and CO2 to methane. Kits include base assembly, reactor tube, and instructions.
