Exhaust Silencer. The exhaust silencer is a cylindrically shaped plastic container equipped with two connection nozzles. Its diameter is only 23 cm at a height of 22 cm and therefore it easily fits on any laboratory bench. The interior surface of the container is fully covered with chemically resistant sound absorbing melamine foam. When properly installed, the exhaust silencer reduces the noise level of the cooling fan very noticeably by 4-5 dB.
