GC Capillary Columns
Capillary columns exhibit extremely high levels of separation performance in comparison with packed columns due to low levels of diffusion and good permeability of samples. Fused silica capillary columns coated with polyimide resins on the outside were developed around 1980. The inert surfaces and flexibility of fused silica tubing enabled high performance separations and easy handling. To satisfy your analytical requirements, we have a wide variety of columns including chemically bonded and wall coated types.

ULBON HR Series (Polyimide Coated Fused Silica)
-
"ULBON" is the generic name for Shinwa capillary columns.
-
"ULBON HR" is the generic name for Shinwa capillary columns with chemically bonded layers.
The ULBON HR series consists of ten types of stationary phases designed for general analyses and a wide range of specialized analytical purposes. We also stock columns with a variety of lengths, inner diameters, and stationary phase film thicknesses in order to meet your requirements.
Features
-
Highly inert inner surfaces of columns enable high precision quantitative analyses.
Adsorption points on the inner surfaces of columns have been completely removed through thorough processing. As a result, free acids and amines, which are easily adsorbed, are eluted without interactions with active surfaces. -
No exfoliation and bleeding of stationary phases enabling high sensitivity analyses.
In HR series columns, stationary phases are firmly chemically bonded to surfaces resulting in almost no exfoliation and bleeding of stationary phases. This enables high sensitivity analyses. -
Maximum operating temperatures higher than those of ordinary WCOT columns.
In comparison with WCOT columns, maximum operating temperatures are approximately 70°C higher for this series (chemically bonded columns). The maximum operating temperature for the HR-20M (corresponds to PEG-20M) series is 240°C, while that for HR silicone series columns is 330°C (except HR-1701 and HR-17 columns).
