Upchurch Scientific / IDEX Health & Science / Biotech Fluidics "High Purity" PFA tubing is manufactured from genuine PTFE™ high purity PFA resin which is a special, modified version of the PTFE base molecule. This higher purity medical grade tubing is frequently preferred in sensitive applications and reliably meets more critical demands. This specialized tubing is also virtually transparent for viewing fluid movement.

PFA Tubing

PFA (perfluoroalkoxyalkane) tubing offers excellent solvent resistance (virtually identical to FEP and PTFE) while adding several advantages. These include smoother surface texture, higher continuous service temperature and superior polymer purity. The recommended maximum operating temperature for our PFA tubing is 80 ºC.

High Purity PFA Tubing

PFA High Purity (HP) tubing offers all of the benefits of standard PFA tubing, with the additional benefit of being manufactured from a premium grade of PFA that is one of the most contaminant-free polymers available. In PFA HP, tubing with the 1/16”, 1/8”, 3/16”, and 1/4” outer diameters is available.

PFA High Purity (HP) Plus tubing carries all of the benefits of PFA HP tubing, with the additional benefits of increased ability to withstand repeated flexing; improved resistance to stress cracking when exposed to aggressive fluorosurfactants; and smoother, clearer walls. In PFA HP Plus, tubing with the following outer diameters: 360 μm, 1/16”, and 1/8” is available.

(Please Note: Due to the physical nature of the 360 μm OD tubing, we recommend using the A-350 Polymer Tubing Cutter when cutting this tubing to length. Additionally, extra care should be taken to ensure fittings are not overtightened and to ensure the tubing is not stretched once secured in place, to ensure the dimensional stability of the tubing.)
