  • Inhibits retention through the use of short alkyl chains, for reduced analytical time on highly hydrophobic compounds.
  • The alkyl chain length is shorter (C8) than that of C18 column, and the analysis time can be shortened by weakening the retention. 
  • It is useful for strongly hydrophobic components.
  • Octylsilane chemically bonded to totally or superficially porous silica particles, 1.5 to 10 µm in diameter, or a monolithic silica rod.
