Being a reversed-phase column with selectivity distinct from conventional C18, it incorporates embedded polar groups, allowing the alkyl phase to remain solvated even in highly aqueous mobile phases (up to 100% water) without hydrophobic collapse. It offers enhanced retention and selectivity for polar compounds.
