ExSil® 100
Dr. Maisch Exsil 100 Hexyl, 5µm, 100Å, 1g bulk Material for HPLC Columns
Product Number: 5136525.0001
- 100 Å
- 0.52 cc/g
- 208 m2/g
- Type A Silica and Bonded Phases
- Alternative to Spherisorb
- Available in 1.5, 3, 5 and 10 μm particle sizes
- Widest range of bonded phases
The original Exsil 100 range was developed to provide an alternative to Spherisorb type products. The extensive range of bonded phases includes novel phases such as the ODS-B and Octyl-B which are so deactivated that they can chromatograph strong bases in buffer free eluents. The range of phases continues to provide a comprehensive selection for all standard applications.
Exsil Hexyl is an HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) column manufactured, featuring a bonded phase of hexyl groups. These columns are used for separating and analysing chemical compounds based on their physical and chemical properties. The "Exsil" part of the name indicates the brand and type of silica used, while "Hexyl" specifies the type of stationary phase bonded to the silica.
Hexyl: This is the hexyl functional group (a six-carbon chain) that is chemically bonded to the surface of the silica particles. The hexyl group provides a hydrophobic (water-repelling) environment, which is useful for separating nonpolar or moderately polar compounds. In essence, Exsil Hexyl columns are HPLC columns with a hexyl-modified silica stationary phase, designed for separating and analysing a wide range of chemical substances.
