ExSil® 100

Dr. Maisch Exsil 100 Phenyl, 5µm, 100Å, 0.1g bulk material for HPLC Columns

Product Number: 5136537

  • 100 Å
  • 0.52 cc/g
  • 208 m2/g
  • Type A Silica and Bonded Phases
  • Alternative to Spherisorb
  • Available in 1.5, 3, 5 and 10 μm particle sizes
  • Widest range of bonded phases

The original Exsil 100 range was developed to provide an alternative to Spherisorb type products. The extensive range of bonded phases includes novel phases such as the ODS-B and Octyl-B which are so deactivated that they can chromatograph strong bases in buffer free eluents. The range of phases continues to provide a comprehensive selection for all standard applications.

  • Phenyl Phase: The "Phenyl" part indicates that the column packing material is chemically bonded with a phenyl group (a benzene ring).
  • Exsil Phenyl: Specifically, "Exsil Phenyl" refers to an Exsil column that utilizes a phenyl-bonded silica for reversed-phase chromatography.
  • Applications: Phenyl columns are useful for separating compounds with aromatic rings, polar compounds, and can offer different selectivity compared to other reversed-phase columns like C18.
  • Advantages: The phenyl phase can interact with the pi electrons of aromatic rings, providing unique selectivity and potentially better separation of certain compounds. Exsil columns, in particular, are known for their stability and wide range of available phases.
  • Exsil 100: Columns with a pore size of 100 Å Angstroms (10 nm)

  • Model: 5136537
