GL Sciences' Inertsil ODS-80A was originally introduced to provide a higher surface area alternative to Inertsil ODS-2, but with the same inertness and base-deactivated properties. However, Inertsil ODS-80A was quickly followed by the release of Inertsil ODS-3, which proved far superior to both the ODS-2 phase and ODS-80A. While GL Sciences continues to produce Inertsil ODS-80A to support customers methods on this material, we DO NOT RECOMMEND this phase for NEW APPLICATIONS.
GL Sciences' Inertsil 3-Series phases were a major advancement on the original ODS-2 and ODS-80A series, and generally provide far superior chromatography, lower operating pressures under all conditions, and improved selectivity for most samples. Hence, GL Sciences recommends Inertsil ODS-3 or Inertsil ODS-3V for new methods using an ODS ( C18 ) phase.
