PST (Peptide Separation Technology)

The ability to reproducibly generate high quality peptide separations is of critical importance in proteomics research as well as for the characterization of biopharmaceuticals via peptide mapping.  Reversed-phase (RP) chromatography has become the separation mode of choice due to its relatively high resolving power and outstanding quantitative (UV) and qualitative (ESI-MS) information.  Waters Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH Technology) and new Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH™) Peptide Separation Technology columns provide capabilities that help address demanding application needs.

ACQUITY UPLC and XSelect CSH130 C18 Guards and Columns

  • Yields superior peak capacity than many alternative C18 column offerings.
  • Best offering for LC/MS applications using 0.1% formic acid.
  • Delivers less peptide retentivity than BEH-based C18 offerings, but is suited for separations of polypeptides up to 10,000 Daltons.
  • Scalable 1.7 µm, 3.5 µm, and 5 µm particles that address a variety of application needs.
  • Tested with tryptic digests of cytochrome c for consistent batch-to-batch and column-to-column consistency.
