SunShell column has not only an inert surface but also high stability due to deactivated silanol groups. SunShell 2.6 μm column can be used on both HPLC and UHPLC because it shows 2 times lower back presure than sub 2 μm column.

SunShell is a series of Core Shell columns giving UHPLC performance with any HPLC system, but with only 1/3 of the backpressure of sub 2µm columns. Thanks to the unique bonding technology, SunShell columns gives market leading chromatographic performance. This means symmetrical peaks, high effeciency, low bleeding and very high pH stability. SunShell columns are manufactured by Chromanik Technologies Inc. in Japan. SunShell columns are available in a wide variety of selectivities and dimensions.

Features of Biphenyl

  • The two benzene rings of the biphenyl group are twisted about 45 degree, and the biphenyl group shows different separation from the phenyl group alone.
  • Even when an aqueous mobile phase containing no organic solvent is used, there is no decrease in retention, and separation with high reproducibility of retention time is achieved.
  • Greater retention of polar compounds such as caffeine.
